@phamti:

AFAIK, there isn't a way to install VMware tools in XPe, as it's written for regular XP. I tried, but was unsuccessful

Hi Zach,

I am trying to setup XPe in VMWare as a mini pre-configured development environment so barebones + minilogon

The VMWare tools install gives this error, "The wizard was interrupted before VMWare tools could completely be installed. ...."

Full details are on my wiki if you don't mind taking a look,
http://sites.google.com/site/tinpham/Home/the-lab/nlite

@phamti no, I don't think I ever got Tools installed. The software I was testing in these XPe images would have conflicted with Tools. What problem are you running into, and what are you doing?

You can actually initialize the hard drive using Windows XP.

Format extra drive as per this article When you finish formatting the drive, right click and select the option to makr the drive as active. That is it.

On another note, anybody get VMWare Tools succesffuly installed in their XPe image? If so what did you do?
