Lookit 0.1 Released

After around two weeks of coding in my freetime, I yesterday uploaded the first public release of my screenshot utility, Lookit. Unlike my bash script, this version has a proper GUI and no longer relies on external utilities like scrot and xclip. Instead, everything is done in native Python.

EDIT: Ubuntu 10.04 packages can be found on the project’s page on Launchpad: http://launchpad.net/lookit.

Other development is done at github: http://zachtib.github.com/lookit/

  1. Hey Zach!

Anyway, I was wondering if you could add support to uploading screen shots to nice and simple Image Hosting services such as Imgur.

    Thanks.

  2. Is it just me or is there a problem with dual screens? If I go to select an area and move to the other screen I can’t do a selection. Be happy to give you some debug output if you tell me how to enable it. I’ve been using a little bash script, err now python, to do my uploads and hook into pynotify so I get a little popup letting me know when I can paste. It doesn’t work that well sometimes :(

  3. it’s very possible, I only have one screen set up myself… If I have a spare moment I’ll drag a CRT up from the basement to test.
